China blocks SoftBank's US$5.4 billion purchase of ABB's robotics business
Beijing's regulator ruled that the deal risked sending robotics data overseas to train AI models, including those built by OpenAI, where SoftBank is a major investor. ABB and SoftBank say they are still working on the transaction.
