Accessibility

Last updated: 08.09.2026

[Company Legal Name] is committed to making The Modern accessible to as many readers as possible, including people who use assistive technologies. This statement describes what we do, where we know we fall short, and how to tell us about problems.

Our standard

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. In practice this means we work to ensure that:

  • pages have a clear heading structure and can be navigated by keyboard alone;
  • text has sufficient contrast against its background and can be resized to at least 200% without loss of content;
  • images that convey information carry meaningful alternative text;
  • links and buttons have descriptive labels;
  • forms have labelled fields and clear error messages;
  • no content flashes or moves in a way that could cause harm or cannot be paused.

Known limitations

We are aware of the following issues and are working to resolve them:

  • Some older articles may include images without alternative text.
  • Embedded third-party content (for example, videos or social media posts) may not meet our standard; we cannot control how those providers build their embeds.
  • Some PDF or other documents linked from articles may not be fully accessible.

Feedback and requests

If you have difficulty using any part of the site, or would like content in an alternative format, contact us at accessibility@[yourdomain] or through our contact form. Please tell us the address of the page and the problem you encountered. We aim to respond within 5 working days.

Enforcement

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may be able to raise the matter with the body responsible for enforcing accessibility requirements in your country.
