Jane Wiseman is leaving Paramount+ after 14 months as its executive vice-president and head of originals, with the service’s programming leadership moving into the structure led by Casey Bloys.

Her departure follows the close of Paramount’s acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery on Oct. 6. Bloys became co-chair and chief content officer for Skydance’s direct-to-consumer division, taking responsibility for the programming teams at HBO, HBO Max and Paramount+.

Bloys set out the new structure in a memo to staff on Friday after the merger. The memo said Wiseman would leave Paramount+ rather than move into the merged Skydance organisation.

Sarah Aubrey, who has led original programming at HBO Max since 2019, will take on Paramount+ originals alongside her existing responsibilities.

Wiseman joined Paramount+ in August 2025, arriving as executive vice-president and head of originals. She and Cindy Holland, then Paramount chair of direct-to-consumer and Wiseman’s former boss, oversaw the approval of 28 new series and 16 renewals.

Wiseman’s own count was broader: she greenlit more than 40 new and returning series across scripted, unscripted, kids and family, and animation. Her orders included Discretion, with Nicole Kidman and Elle Fanning, and The Best Of Us, with Jeremy Strong. Both productions are in progress.

In a statement, Wiseman said: “I'm incredibly proud of this team. It's been a privilege to be part of it. Together, we've greenlit more than 40 new and returning series across scripted, unscripted, kids & family and animation, like Discretion, Fear Not, Laird, Trauma, Ascent, Clueless and The Best Of Us, just to name a few.”

She also made deals with producers including the Duffer Brothers and Issa Rae. During her tenure, Dutton Ranch became Paramount+’s biggest original series premiere in its history, while Landman Season 2 spent 13 consecutive weeks on Nielsen’s Top 10 Originals chart. Lioness Season 3 grew 62% over Season 2.

Bloys praised Wiseman’s work in his memo, saying: “Jane, in her partnership with Cindy Holland, has done amazing work at Paramount+. The development slate is incredibly impressive, and Jane has graciously offered to help with the transition. She is an extraordinarily talented executive.”

Holland had left the streamer before Wiseman. The two had previously worked together at Netflix, where Wiseman spent 10 years beginning in 2014 as vice-president of original series and head of comedy.

At Netflix, Wiseman helped launch Ozark, Narcos, Dead to Me, Russian Doll, Master of None, Never Have I Ever, Big Mouth, BoJack Horseman, The Kominsky Method and Grace and Frankie. Before Netflix, she held comedy roles at Chernin Entertainment, NBCUniversal and Fox. She also worked as head of US television at Sister and as a consultant for Prime Video.

Bloys has brought several senior HBO and HBO Max executives into the combined operation: Francesca Orsi, HBO’s head of drama; Amy Gravitt, head of comedy for HBO and HBO Max; and Aubrey. Aubrey will now oversee original series output for HBO Max and Paramount+, placing the two services’ programming under one executive.
