Europe's museums tighten security a year after the Louvre heist
More than 14 museums across Europe have been hit by smash-and-grab thieves since early 2025. The Louvre robbery exposed camera failures, a misdirected police response and a security system protected by the password 'Louvre'. The jewels have still not been recovered.
