Canada and EU launch Alliance for the Future at Montreal summit
The two-day summit produced a digital trade agreement, European Investment Bank funding for Canadian critical minerals projects, and a Canadian pledge of 500 million euros to an EU loan fund for Ukraine. The two sides will spend the next eight months negotiating Canada's possible associate membership of the EU.
