Colorado's largest wildlife overpass cuts collisions by 91% in nine months
The 209-foot crossing over Interstate 25 in Douglas County cost $15 million and is projected to prevent more than 300 highway-speed crashes a year. At that rate, it could pay for itself in two to three years — a fraction of the usual 15-year return for wildlife crossings.
