Ireland fines Google €403 million over location data it kept secret from users
The fine covers a period between 2018 and 2020, when the DPC found Google was tracking people's movements without being clear about what it was collecting or how long it was keeping it. Consumer groups criticised the eight years it took to reach a ruling.
