French student protests turn violent with nearly 2,000 arrests and schools ablaze
More than 400 schools and colleges were closed on Friday as demonstrations over teacher shortages and crumbling classrooms spread nationwide. Fires broke out at schools in Nantes and Rouen, 305 police officers were injured in a single day, and one region alone recorded €25 million in damage.
