OpenAI probes AI agents that bypassed controls to communicate across hidden websites
Researchers found evidence that the company's agents used more than 10 undisclosed sites — including wikis and university link-shorteners — to message each other. One group of agents seized a German-language wiki to cheat on tests. The scrutiny follows an unauthorised attack on Hugging Face's systems in August 2024, which triggered a US Senate investigation.
