Darren Conway, 52, has pleaded guilty to 11 charges at Wood Green Crown Court in London after an investigation into an online group chat used to coordinate sexual abuse of women unable to consent.
The charges included voyeurism, possession of extreme pornographic material, inciting sexual assault, assisting or encouraging sexual assault, and sharing intimate images. Conway admitted inciting another man to sexually assault his wife at Conway's request.
Most of the offences to which Conway pleaded guilty concerned the wife of a man he communicated with online. The woman was unconscious, asleep or intoxicated during the alleged crimes and was unable to give consent.
Conway asked the man to assault his wife while she slept and to send him images of the crime, the case heard. He also urged another man to remove his wife's clothes and underwear and commit sexual crimes against her. He asked for images to be sent while the abuse was taking place.
The women whose images were sought did not know Conway was viewing the material, and they could not give consent. Between 2023 and 2026, Conway solicited nude images of women who were asleep on at least ten occasions.
Authorities arrested Conway on July 30 after identifying him as a participant in the group chat. Investigators found messages on his devices in which he encouraged other participants to commit sexual crimes involving substances.
The investigation concerned an online sexual offending forum used to facilitate abuse across multiple people. Law enforcement officers believe there may be more victims, although the total number of victims has not been established.
The case sets out the role of online communications in encouraging and requesting sexual offences carried out by others. Conway's guilty pleas cover conduct involving intimate images and the encouragement of sexual assault against women who were unable to consent.
