England's NHS cancer treatment times are getting worse, not better
Only 71.2% of patients are starting treatment within 62 days of an urgent GP referral, down from 71.9%. The government wants to reach 80% by March 2027 — but that would require more than 2,800 extra patients a month to begin treatment on time.
