Trump bans Canadian spirits, dairy and cars as trade war deepens
The ban takes effect on 29 September and follows 50% US tariffs imposed last month on around $20bn of Canadian goods. Canada hit back overnight with dollar-for-dollar duties on US steel, clothing and furniture — and no new talks are scheduled.
