Russian lab technician dies of plague after breaking test tube at Siberian institute
Daria Shipilova, 28, fell ill after the accident at the Irkutsk Anti-Plague Institute and died on 2 October. Nearly 200 people have been isolated, a hospital quarantined and a criminal investigation opened into possible safety breaches.
