An 81,000-ton concrete box has been lowered onto the Baltic seabed for an undersea tunnel
The element, 712 feet long, is the fourth placed in a trench south of the Danish island of Lolland, extending the crossing to 2,950 feet. Separately, the €2.8 billion NeuConnect cable linking Britain and Germany has finished installation in UK waters and is being laid through Dutch waters towards Germany.
