Tesla to unveil its long-delayed Roadster on 1 October — but a road-legal version is still years away
The event will be held at SpaceX's rocket test facility in Texas and will feature a thruster-equipped limited edition that runs unmanned because the noise risks hearing injury. Tesla first showed the next-generation Roadster in 2017 and had promised deliveries by 2020.
