England and Wales to get dedicated rape courts at a cost of £23 million
Every Crown Court will set aside at least one courtroom for rape and serious sexual offence cases. Fixed trial dates, private victim entrances and trauma-informed staff training are all part of the plan, with specialist police teams across all forces due by December 2027.
