For most technology companies, a quarterly profit approaching $60 billion would be the story. At Nvidia, it is close to the footnote. The chip designer, already the world's most valuable public company, used its earnings cycle in the last week of August 2026 to argue something broader: that it is now the only organisation capable of funding the artificial intelligence industry at the scale the industry requires.
Chief Financial Officer Colette Kress delivered the forecast on August 26. She said Nvidia expects revenue growth of 70% in fiscal 2028, which would put annual sales at roughly $673 billion. The projection is far above the 44% average analyst estimate tracked by LSEG, the financial data firm. It is also the furthest forward Nvidia has ever publicly guided investors.
Quarterly revenue reached $96.2 billion, more than double the figure from the same period a year earlier. Data-centre revenue rose 117% to $89 billion and now accounts for more than 90% of the company's total quarterly revenue. Nvidia reported nearly $60 billion in quarterly profit.
Chief Executive Jensen Huang said on Wednesday's earnings call that supply constraints, rather than demand or capital, are what limit the growth projection. Memory shortages and other component gaps are preventing Nvidia from projecting a still higher figure.
