EU membership plan would cap Ukraine's farm subsidies and limit its food market access
The European Commission's enlargement proposals, published on 6 October, include restrictions on agricultural support for Ukraine even after accession. Brussels hopes the terms will ease fears in Poland, France and Italy, where farmers have long protested the flow of cheaper Ukrainian grain.
