Australia's jobless rate hits its highest point since the Covid pandemic
Unemployment rose to 4.7 per cent in September as employment fell by 39,300 — well short of forecasts for a 20,000 rise. Economists said the figures could give the Reserve Bank reason to hold off on further rate rises.
