Shisha smoking could cause close to 1 million lung cancer cases by 2050, IARC study finds
Researchers combined data from 78 countries to estimate that water-pipe smoking will account for 944,700 lung cancer cases between 2025 and 2050. The burden falls hardest on the Eastern Mediterranean region and on countries with the fewest resources to cope.
