Jewish federation sues Norton Simon Museum over Nazi-looted Cranach diptych, and the museum countersues
The Jewish Federation-Council of Greater Los Angeles took over a 26-year claim for two Lucas Cranach the Elder panels seized from Dutch Jewish dealer Jacques Goudstikker in 1940. The case will test whether the HEAR Act can strip the museum of a defence that won it the last round in court.
